Applications invited for Women's Education Award of Rs 41 lakh from UNESCO
The selection process will be carried out by the UNESCO Executive Board in partnership with the People's Republic of China which will choose two winners for the 2024 award
Applications are now open for the Women's Education Award 2024, sponsored by UNESCO, offering a grant of Rs 41 lakh. Higher education institutions across India are invited to participate in this prestigious initiative.
To apply, Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in India are requested to submit their applications to the Indian National Commission (INCCU) by April 30, 2024. INCCU will then forward the recommended applications to UNESCO by May 24, 2024. The selection process will be carried out by the UNESCO Executive Board, in partnership with the People's Republic of China, which will choose two winners for the 2024 award. Each winner will receive US$50,000 (equivalent to Rs. 41,65,000). The Central Government has the opportunity to nominate up to three candidates for this esteemed award.
Eligibility extends to individuals who have made significant contributions to women's education or have been actively engaged in projects related to women's education for a minimum of two years. Nominations must be submitted in English or French through the official UNESCO website (https://www.unesco.org/qwe) by midnight on May 24, 2024.
