Whistling Woods International’s (WWI) School of Creative Arts recently wrapped up its much-anticipated Design Conclave 2026. Hosted at the WWI campus in Filmcity, Mumbai, the two-day creative exchange drew an enthusiastic gathering of leading industry practitioners, creative professionals, and aspiring designers.
Anchored around the theme “Everything, Everyday, Designed,” the conclave featured an immersive lineup of masterclasses, panel discussions, hands-on workshops, and student showcases spanning Animation & Game Design, Fashion & Costume Design, and Visual Communication Design.
An All-Star Lineup of Industry Experts
The event welcomed several distinguished names from the creative and entertainment industries. Among them were International Emmy-nominated filmmaker and animator Vaibhav Kumaresh, Founder and Creative Director of Vaibhav Studios; Ranjit ‘Tony’ Singh, Animation Director and Creative Producer at Vaibhav Studios; and Prateek Sethi, Founder and Creative Director of Trip Creative Services, widely recognized for hosting the popular children's science show FAQ on Pogo TV.
Other industry leaders sharing their insights included cinematographer Vishnu Tenkayala; Yogesh Patel and Rony Moncy from Dot9Games; and Saoni Daini, Founder and Creative Director of Sazo. A strong contingent of WWI alumni—including Humera Khan (Behno), Ameya Vinayaraj (ZeniMax Online Studios), Bajro Dutta (Unbearable Comics), and Virashree Yerunkar and Kesha Chaun (Rentofy)—also returned to interact with students and share their professional journeys.
Learning by Doing: Highlights and Student Showcases
A core element of the conclave was the WWI Student Showcase, which put student-led projects across animation, gaming, fashion concepts, and visual communication front and center. Participants also engaged in practical workshops covering CLO 3D, VFX, gameplay design, tie-dye, 3D printing, character modeling, pixilation, and visual storytelling.
Moving beyond formal sessions, the event integrated a vibrant fashion show, a flea market, and live DJ performances, offering a dynamic space for networking and creative exploration.
Fostering the Next Generation of Visionaries
Highlighting the students' pivotal role in the event's execution, Meghna Ghai Puri of Whistling Woods International expressed her admiration:
"The most remarkable aspect of the Design Conclave was seeing our students take complete ownership of the initiative—from conceptualising and organising the event to showcasing their own work. Their ability to create a platform that celebrates design, while putting their creativity and ideas at the forefront, is truly commendable."
By bridging the gap between academia and industry, Design Conclave 2026 successfully reinforced WWI's commitment to cultivating creative excellence and outlining diverse career possibilities in the global design landscape.
