D.Ed B.Ed qualified candidates waiting for the recruitment process

Pune: 67k posts vacant in schools for last 7 years

Thousands of students enroll in D.Ed. and B.Ed. programs each year to become a teacher in government schools; but, much to their dismay, the state has not held a hiring process for over 67,000 positions in several years. The unemployment rate for skilled teachers has gone up. As a result, the government launched the hiring procedure for mass instructors a few days ago, but they did not say how many posts will be filled. As a result, candidates who had been waiting a long time for the recruiting drive were confused.

Given that many schools are operating without teachers, the situation is undoubtedly dire. The majority of D.Ed. and B.Ed. qualified applicants work on a clock-hour basis (CHB), during which mandatory teacher aptitude and intelligence tests (TAIT) are administered, according to the reports, 2.16 lakh applicants in total passed the exam. The merit list was also made public. Still, barely 11,000 seats were occupied. This is unfair to these deserving contenders.

Thousands of Zilla Parishad schools in the state are without teachers. The government started the process to fill up 25 percent of posts. A challenge was also made by the government that 50,000 teachers would be recruited, but the recruitment never happened. The rate of unemployment is increasing due to the authorities’ non-seriousness. the number of candidates is high and the seats that are being filled are very few.
