As per the notification, to get admission for class one students must be a minimum of 6 years old. It is crucial for parents to thoroughly review all the admission rules before securing admission for their child in KV. Many parents aspire to send their children to KV from class 1. Kendriya Vidyalaya charges a nominal admission fee of only Rs 25, which applies uniformly to every Kendriya Vidyalaya across the country as the fee structure is standardized. The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), an autonomous institution operating under the Ministry of Education of the Central Government, determines the fees and other financial aspects of KVs. While KVS sets guidelines, individual central schools also have some flexibility in determining their fees.

The KVS admission fee is only Rs 25, while the re-admission fee has been fixed at Rs 100. Monthly tuition fees of Rs 200 are charged to KVS Class 9 and 10 students. For KVS 11th and 12th Commerce and Arts (boys) students, the monthly tuition fee is Rs 300, and for Science students, it is Rs 400. Students of KVS Class 1, 2, and 3 do not have to pay computer funds. However, children after the third class have to deposit Rs 100 in the computer fund. The computer Science fee for Class 11 and 12 elective subjects is Rs 150, and it is mandatory to deposit Rs 500 per month as a School Development Fund for students from Class 1 to 12.
