Five dummy schools in Delhi lose CBSE affiliation
Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has de-affiliated 20 schools, of which 5 schools are based in New Delhi, the decision came after the board found out that the schools were not complying with its affiliation and examination by-laws and were indulged in malpractices.
A nationwide surprise inspection was conducted and as an outcome around 20 schools were found floating norms set by the CBSE board. The inspection revealed instances of presenting dummy students, admitting ineligible candidates, and maintaining inadequate records in these dummy schools, started a notice issued by CBSE on Friday.
According to the notice issued by the CBSE board on Friday, out of 20 schools five of the schools were from Delhi, the other included three in Utter Pradesh, two each in Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Kerala and Maharashtra, and one each in Assam and Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Kashmir. Three schools, including one in Delhi, had been downgraded from Class 12 to Class 10.
As per the notice, three schools in Delhi, Punjab and Assam have been downgraded from Class 12th to Class 10th. The schools can now apply fresh to get affiliation by taking action and fulfilling basic requirements in compliance with the CBSE laws.
It was found that the dummy schools had tie-ups with coaching schools so the students of class 12th could take tuition there without worrying about attending classes.
