Pune University to deal with drug abuse among students
The university is taking pro-active steps to prevent students from falling into the trap of drug addiction

Savitribai Phule Pune University on Wednesday issued a circular informing the university department to be vigilant about narcotics in colleges. The university is planning a slew of measures telling its departments to come up with a holistic plan to prevent drug abuse.
The decision is taken in the wake of the increasing trend of drug addiction among youth. All university departments as well as university sub-centre premises are instructed to notify all such anti-social activities. The local police administration is taking serious note of all such activities.
All the departments are directed to report any matter related to narcotics or any suspicious situation is found to the local police administration immediately. It is also directed that various activities should be implemented to create awareness among all the students and inform them about the serious consequences of drug addiction and to prevent the students from falling into the trap of drug addiction, counselling programs should also be implemented on a large scale to create awareness among the students.
