Over 35 candidates have expressed interest in the Registrar position, including former members of the management council and executive members. Additionally, department heads and professors within the university have submitted applications, adding to the pool of candidates. The selection process for the Registrar position promises intrigue.

Dr. Vijay Khare, currently serving as the Director of the International Student Center and Head of the Defense and Military Science Department at Savitribai Phule Pune University, is currently the in-charge Registrar. Alongside professorial and vice-chancellor roles, the university has also advertised the Registrar position.

The University has received 36 applications within the specified deadline, with approximately 20 to 22 applications originating from candidates within the Pune district, and the remaining from Nashik, Ahmednagar, Mumbai, and Kolhapur. Notably, a significant number of female candidates have applied.

Among the applicants are individuals such as Sudhakar Shinde, Harsh Gaikwad, Manohar Sanap, Sanjay Sanap, Pandit Radhakrishna, Milind Suryavanshi, Hemangini Patil, Mahesh Deshpande, Sunil Kandalkar from Symbiosis Skill and Professional University in Kiwale. Additionally, former management council member and principal Sharmila Chaudhary, former Adhisabha member Rajkumar Shete, Bharat Jinturkar, Pandharinath Patil, Kailas Chandratre, Raju Singh Chavan, Dinesh Doke, Tanaji Dawde, Sanjay Kumar Gangurde, Sugat Bansode, Vandana Nikam, Mahadev Kokate, Jitendra Bhosle, Nand Kumar Mandalik, Sunil Mhaske, Mandya Gulal, Prasad Baviskar, Amol Bapat, Prashant Wankhade, Jyoti Bhakere, Balasaheb Agarkar, Varsha Wankhade, Sandhya Chavan, and Kailas Sa. Additionally, Sapner, Nanasaheb Sathe, and Ashwini Kumar Sonone have submitted applications. Sources suggest that the current in-charge Registrar, Dr. Vijay Khare, has also applied for the full-time Registrar position.

With the announcement of the code of conduct for the Lok Sabha elections imminent, interviews for positions such as professors, vice-chancellors, and registrars at the university are expected to be scheduled after the conclusion of the election code of conduct period.
