Manipur govt to introduce grading system in class 10 board examination
No division or rank will be awarded in the grading system for the high school leaving certificate examination
The Manipur government is all set to introduce the grading system for the class 10 board examination effective from this year. As per the notification, no division or rank will be awarded in the grading system for the high school leaving certificate examination.
Joint Secretary, Education Department, Elangbam Sonia on Thursday issued a notice that said, “In the grading system being introduced, no total marks/aggregate will be displayed in the document, no division/rank will be awarded, and only pass/ fail will be printed.”
Students will be graded with A1 for getting 91-100 and A2 for getting a percentage between 81-90. Students who get a percentage between 21 and 30 would fall under the E1 category and students falling below 21 will be given an E2 grade.
The decision came against the backdrop of stress and burden on the students which kills their creativity. Children should get an atmosphere where they can learn without stress and without being over-competitive at their age.
At least 37,715 students including 18,628 female students are applying for the matriculation examination which is being held from March 15 to April 8 in 154 examination centers.
