Director of Higher Education, Shailendra Devlankar instructs University to form Selection committee for faculty recruitment within 15 days
Director of Higher Education Shailendra Devlankar issued a circular to all university registrars for deliberately delaying in appointing the selection committee for the post of Assistant Professor in a non-government college
The faculty recruitment by the state government is expected to recruit the faculty within six months after giving the no-failure certificate to the colleges. However, some non-agricultural universities in the state are deliberately delaying the selection committee for the recruitment of professors. Therefore, the higher education of the state has given a clear order to the universities to give the selection committee within 15 days.
The circular dated March 1, 2024, mentions that the composition of the selection committee for the posts of Principal, Assistant Professor, Librarian, and Director of Physical Education in the non-agricultural colleges of the state has been prescribed in the said government decision. In this selection committee Representative of Vice-Chancellor, The Vice-Chancellor consists of representatives of backward classes, subject experts, etc.
The circular reads, “Currently, the process of issuing non-revocation certificates for the posts of principal, assistant professor, librarian, and director of physical education is done at the government level. The non-revocation certificate is valid for six months from the date of issue. It is during this period that the entire recruitment process for the said posts should be done. The demand of the selection committee for recruitment is registered with the universities through the concerned organization in the state.”
Shailendra Devlankar, clearly pointed out that there is a delay in giving the selection committee consisting of members from the university to the concerned institution. As a result, the process of recruitment stops completely due to the expiry of the no-cancellation certificate issued by the government. Therefore, the concerned institution/management/college has to redo the entire process of obtaining the no-damage certificate. In all these processes students lose their education due to time wastage.
