NCERT updated textbook for classes 3, 6 to be available in April, May
The NCERT is striving to provide updated school textbooks for classes 3 6 on time
The National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT) will release the books for classes 3 and 6 under the new syllabus in April and May, respectively. The council has asked the parents and students to be patient and assured that books will be available in the market very soon.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) earlier last week had directed all the affiliated schools to follow the new syllabi and textbooks for classes 3 and 6 from the 2024-25 academic session.
The NCERT also said that it is making efforts to provide school books on time and about 33 lakh books for classes 1,2,7,8,10 and 12 have been printed and delivered to bookshops so far. Books for classes 3,4,5,9 and 11 will be available in May, the council added.
The change in syllabus for classes 3, and 6 was made by NCERT as class 3 marks the start of preparatory and class 6 marks the beginning of the middle stages and they needed a revamp so that they could line up with the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCFSE).
