In a first, a school in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, launched India’s first AI teacher ‘Iris’ developed in collaboration with Makerlabs Edutech. In a revolutionary step, Iris is the first humanoid robot teacher in the state and possibly the entire country.
The humanoid was unveiled at KTCT Higher Secondary School in Thiruvananthapuram, which was the initiative by the Kaduvayil Thangal Charitable Trust (KTCT).

The last month Iris was launched which generated a lot of excitement. A video shared by Makerlabs on Instagram showcases its potential multilingual AI teacher. “With IRIS, we’ve set out to revolutionize education by harnessing the power of AI to create a truly personalized learning experience,” they wrote.
With the ability to speak three languages and tackle complex questions, Iris offers a personalized learning journey for each student. Its features include voice assistance, interactive learning modules, manipulation capabilities, and mobility, making it an invaluable asset in the classroom.
