As a parent, you always want your children to succeed in all areas of life.  You dream of them getting into the best colleges and universities, mastering every subject, and being at the top of the class. However, these expectations sometimes go beyond your child’s capabilities. Your expectations become hard to meet, resulting in more pressure from your side and transforming into anxiety for your child. The outcome of these actions is, more often than not, unhealthy on a large scale.

Talking to 'Eduvarta' in this regard, Pediatrician Dr. Ulhas Luktuke said, "Basically, it is the responsibility of both parents and children to ensure that such a situation does not arise. Proper planning of time and study throughout the year, identifying the inclinations of children and giving them proper guidance and support can prevent many unwanted incidents."

Dr. Luktuke said, "Whatever students study throughout the year, whatever they write in the exam, is handed to the children in the form of the result after the exam. Instead of regretting it after the result or being sad because of the fear of failure, the children and parents should pay attention to how they can prepare for the next year.’’

‘’Do not shout, be little them as this can lower their self-confidence. Rather, discuss with both the child and the teacher where your child failed in studies, what went wrong in the exam, how he got low marks. He should be corrected and prepared to take the test afresh," said Dr, Luktuke

Parents should first know their children's inclinations and strengths and not expect too much from him. On this occasion, Dr. also advised that his children should be encouraged to pursue a career in any art or subject in  which they are interested apart from studies."
