Pune: MLA Ravindra Dhangekar has demanded to fine the schools that have failed to adhere to various norms laid down to streamline the buying of school uniform or text books. He has written a letter in this regard to the State Education minister Deepak Kesarkar.

The letter has come in the background of Delhi government’s action against the private schools that have failed to adhere to the norms.

In the letter, Dhangekar mentioned that the private schools in the city have made it compulsory for the parents to buy the school uniform and text books from specific stores. These stores are designated by the school management and parents allege that they have hand-in-gloves with the school management.

Slowly, the economy is recovering after the Covid-19 pandemic and parents are yet to come to terms after the financial crisis. He further said in the letter that the Delhi government has taken action against the schools who made it compulsory to buy the uniforms or textbooks from specific stores.

“The same rule should be made in the state of Maharashtra”, he said adding that the pilfering of the parents’ money can be stopped.
