Thousand posts vacant for mathematics, science, and sports teachers positions despite recruiting 11085 candidates; know why

The process of teacher recruitment is being implemented by the school education department of the state and even after recommending qualified candidates, thousands of posts of teachers remain vacant. According to the statistics published by the education department, there were 16 thousand 799 posts without interviews out of 21 thousand 678. Out of which 11085 candidates are being recommended while 5717 are not recommended. Considering reservation, 2357 seats are vacant due to non-candidates of ex-servicemen (15 per cent) 1536 seats are due to non-candidates of part-time (10 per cent) and 568 seats are vacant due to non-candidates of sportsmen (5 per cent). This has been mentioned in the circular published by the education department.  

Class 1st to Class 5 English Medium-1585, Marathi Medium-870, Urdu Medium- 640 seats, and Mathematics-Science- 2238 seats in Class 6 to Class 8 are vacant.

According to the statistics released by the education department, considering the language subject, there are 1585 seats in English medium class 1st to 5th class, Marathi medium-870 seats, Urdu medium- 640 seats, and mathematics-science-2238 seats in class 6th to class 8th group are vacant. The merit list was released by management taking into consideration the posts in their advertisement to give a 1:1 ratio for recruitment without interviews as per the priority locked by the candidates.

 There is a provision to conduct a second round at the end of the recruitment if the candidates from parallel reservation are not available in the first round due to unavailability of candidates. Accordingly, the vacancies in the advertisement will be filled without interview. A total of 4879 seats of this type including interviews are in progress for recommending candidates for interviews in the ratio of 1:10 instead of 1:3 and will be processed accordingly considering the government order and judicial process. In Petition No. 7623/2023 in High Court, Bench Nagpur, Maharashtra to private institutions As per the prevailing provisions of the Private Schools Rules 1981, 1:10, instructions are given for giving interviews and teaching skills. According to the government letter dated February 22, 2024, till the amendment of the rule candidates will be made available in the ratio of 1:10. 1189 institutions that have selected the option of recruitment with interviews will make available candidates in the ratio of 1:10 through due process for 4879 vacancies. 

Candidates will be recommended for interview and teaching skills to the institutes who have selected the recruitment option from among the candidates. Based on the interview and teaching skills, 30 marks have been provided for this and the candidate will be selected by the institute. After the publication of the merit list, the schedule will be decided from the state level for further action, according to which the appointing authority will take appropriate action at their level from the timetable is prepared to the time table is posted. Orders will be issued, in which the disabled and women will be given priority. After verifying the original documents, the candidates who are eligible for the appointment will be appointed.

In the case of some candidates, it is necessary to verify the documents from the competent authority, after proper verification of such candidates, the process of appointment will be done at the appointing authority level, it was also mentioned in the circular released by the Education Department.
